“Dance is the hidden language of the soul”

Shezad is an enthusiastic, passionate and devoted writer of dance. After completing his Masters in Text and Performance with an extensive focus on dance as well as the work of Akram Khan, he then studied for and achieved a PhD. The focus of this doctoral study was the representation of women in the work of Shobana Jeyasingh. It was also at this point that he discovered his passion for writing dance-based articles, reviews and interviews. Shezad has written for Pulse, One Dance UK, ballet-dance magazine and Confluence. In addition, he has also written and delivered conference papers, again with one of the focus’ being the female dancing body and dance.
