Rocio Chacon

Rocio was born in Mendoza, Argentina, grew up in Barcelona and has been living in London for the past eight years.

With a background in Media and Documentary Studies, she moved to the capital to pursue a creative career in photography. As a photographer apart from her commercial work she’s photographed for several festivals, dance companies and institutions such as Dance Umbrella, Greenwich and Docklands Festival or The Place Theatre.

While developing as a professional photographer during these years Rocio has also explored dance from different perspectives, training in different techniques such as release, contact improvisation and butoh as well as creating projects such as ‘To Inhabit Spaces’, focused in site-specific actions for the camera.

In September 2018 she has started a masters degree at London Contemporary Dance School looking to deepen her understanding about dance and developing a personal practice anchored in movement and dance performance.
