At the age of six Vitali Safronkine began his training in Russia and studied for four years at the Rudolf Nureyev Ballet School.
In 2000, with the scholarship of the Rudolf Nureyev, he was invited to ballet school in the Swiss Zurich, where he was trained two years under the direction of Alexander Ursuliak.
In 2001 he was a finalist at the Prix de Lausanne and in the same year winner of the 1st Price of competition Kiev in Ukraine. At the age of 17, he began in the Junior Ballet of the Zurich Opera House in 2004 and two years later, Demi Soloist. Soloist of the Zurich Ballet under the direction of Heinz Spoerli. Then in 2010, he danced for the Basel Ballet under the direction of Richard Wherlock. Since 2012 he has worked with Bejart Ballet Lausanne.
Safronkine has worked with many great choreographers including Jiri Kylian, William Forsythe, Paul Lightfoot, Sol Leon, Heinz Spoerli, Mauro Bigonzetti, Hans van Manen, Nacho Duato, Twyla Tharp, Lin Hwai-Min, Christopher Wheeldom, Wherlock, Angelin Preljocaj, Gil Roman.
His first short choreographies include:
” Solo for Two “ and ” Light in the Shadow “ to the music of Samuel Barber and Astor Piazzola Vitali 2008, shown at the gala Aukeran Company. In May 2011, created his new piece ” Fratres “ with the Basel Ballet Company and in the same year, he choreographed two pieces ” La Silhouette “ and ” Summa “ for Covent Garden Dance Company.
