Donate £1 to help Northern Ballet

#theatrefor1pound was launched to help those in the Arts following the Covid 19 pandemic. It’s a simple idea, if everyone gave just £1 imagine the huge difference that could be made for dance in Leeds.

Created by dance lover and dance mum Victoria Smith (whose daughter Izzy is studying at The Academy of Northern Ballet on the Centre for Advanced Training Programme), she said: “Without any performances, it’s not just the dancers who are affected – it’s the musicians, costume and set designers, special effects, makeup, writers, choreographers, physiotherapists, conductors, actors, photographers, printers of programmes/tickets, box office staff, front of house, lighting engineers, the driver of the lorry who transports the sets from one theatre to another…the list seems endless!”

The campaign will see all of the money go equally to Northern Ballet and Leeds Playhouse. Northern Ballet is an acclaimed company based in Leeds and the Leeds Playhouse has been around for 50 years and needs to be able to continue to operate and also lovingly preserved.

You can donate a £1 (or whatever you can) here at #theatrefor1pound.
